THE ALICE-IN-WONDERLAND FOLLIES
February 11 at 1 pm and February 12 at 11am & 1 pm
Keith Michael’s The Alice-In-Wonderland Follies opens in 1915 at The Palace Theater in New York in the electric atmosphere of a vaudeville extravaganza that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the 1865 publication of Lewis Carroll’s literary classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. With rapid-fire staging and droll humor, Alice’s fantasies unfold in music halls reminiscent of the crowd-pleasing effervescence of headliners such as Joe Weber and Lew Fields, Lillian Russell, Helen Hayes, Eddie Foy, Vernon Castle, Fay Templeton, and Marie Dressler – the perfect time-travel cast.
SLEEPING BEAUTY
March 10 at 1pm and March 11 at 11am & 1pm
James Sutton’s Sleeping Beauty, danced to thrilling music by Tchaikovsky, is set in a tiny, and magical fairy kingdom beneath the roots of a great tree. Based on the original scenario devised by the great Russian choreographer Marius Petipa in 1890, a cast of fourteen dancers brings to life Princess Aurora’s story from her christening to her glorious wedding celebration.
