Keith Michael’s new Nutcracker enchanted audiences with choreography that The New York Observer’s Robert Gottlieb called “musical and inventive—and fun.” In February, Keith presents a marvelous journey into Wonderland in The Alice-in-Wonderland Follies. Join Alice, the White Rabbit, the Mad Hatter and many more lively characters in this hour-long ballet perfect for children 3-8.
Keith Michael’s The Alice-In-Wonderland Follies opens in 1915 at The Palace Theater in New York in the electric atmosphere of a vaudeville extravaganza that celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the 1865 publication of Lewis Carroll’s literary classic Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. With rapid-fire staging and droll humor, Alice’s fantasies unfold in music halls reminiscent of the crowd-pleasing effervescence of headliners such as Joe Weber and Lew Fields, Lillian Russell, Helen Hayes, Eddie Foy, Vernon Castle, Fay Templeton, and Marie Dressler – the perfect time-travel cast.
SLEEPING BEAUTY
March 10 at 1pm and March 11 at 11am & 1pm
Click on the “BUY NOW” button for single tickets to Sleeping Beauty.
James Sutton’s Sleeping Beauty, danced to thrilling music by Tchaikovsky, is set in a tiny, and magical fairy kingdom beneath the roots of a great tree. Based on the original scenario devised by the great Russian choreographer Marius Petipa in 1890, a cast of fourteen dancers brings to life Princess Aurora’s story from her christening to her glorious wedding celebration.
GROUNDBREAKING in its programming and execution, NYTB’s wildly popular Once Upon A Ballet series provides entertaining storybook ballets meticulously rendered in miniature. Our traditional Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty classics, as well as new works such as The Nutcracker are only one hour in length – perfectly suited to the attention span of our youngest audience members, yet sophisticated enough for the most discerning adult.
“Imagine a totally unwired world with the impact of so much visual richness. Then unplug a 21st century kid and head for the Gould.”
– Elizabeth Zimmer, The Village Voice.
