Founded in 1978, the school is the official school of New York Theatre Ballet and has since been recognized as one of the finest training programs of the Cecchetti syllabus in New York City. For qualified students, Ballet School NY’s unique association with New York Theatre Ballet provides performing experience throughout the year in ballets that feature roles for children.

Under the direction of its founder, Diana Byer, all classes are taught to the highest standards by a faculty of top professionals. Ballet School NY provides teaching assistants in every class. Small class size guarantees highly individualized instruction. Graded classes are offered in pre-ballet, beginning at age 4, through advanced levels maintaining a core training program emphasizing the development of strong technical skill and discipline.
