School Policies
• Uniform requirements are to be followed by all students and are enforced by the teaching staff. Necklaces, bracelets, earrings, nail polish, and skirts (attached or unattached) aren’t permitted in class.
• Children aren’t permitted to dress in any area except the dressing rooms even if they have their dance clothes on under their street clothes. Please hang clothes up on the rack or use one of the cubbies.
• Girls should have their hair in a neat bun and white headbands are to be worn in all children’s classes.
Please spray down stray hairs.
• Children must be ready for class on time. Once roll is taken children won’t be permitted into the class. Late arrival is disruptive to the other children in class.
• Please leave the dressing room and studio no later than ten minutes after class. If another class has begun, please leave quietly so you don’t interrupt the class.
• Our lobby is too small to accommodate strollers. Please leave your stroller on the 1st floor.
• Children are not permitted to run in the building or the studio. When arriving or leaving everyone should use quiet voices.
• Please don’t miss class for other events. Excessive absences are cause for dismissal.
• If you need to use the restroom while class is in session, please walk down to the 3rd floor and use the back steps up to the 5th floor. Don’t walk through any class while it’s in progress. If you can’t use the steps, please wait until the class is over.
• Food and drink aren’t allowed in the building. Please make sure your child has been fed before arriving to the studio. Gum chewing is not permitted.
• Please be considerate when using your cell phone by keeping conversations quiet and brief.
• Please be patient with the elevator. BSNY staff will operate it for you. Occasionally, you might have to take the stairs.
• We are only permitted to use the 5th Floor. Please don’t use the 4th or 1st floor lobby for any activities. You many not wait for your children on the 1st floor until 15 minutes before their class ends. The building owner has asked that we don’t use any floors in the building except ours.
• BSNY is not liable for any personal injury sustained by students on the school or building premises as a result of the student’s participation in class or performance. The School is not responsible for the loss or theft of any personal property on its premises.
