NYTB auditions are held continuously throughout the year.

To Schedule an Audition:

You may make an appointment to take Company class.  Class takes place Monday through Friday at 9:30 am.  Thursday is pointe class, only. Please email Diana Byer, Artistic Director, to schedule. dianabyer@nytb.org

We are auditioning male (5'7" - 6'2") and female (5'1" - 5' 6") classically trained dancers.  Men should have strong, clean technique and good partnering skills.  Women must have advanced pointe work and refined classical skill.

Please bring a photo and resume to the audition. 

Although previous training in the Cecchetti style is not a requirement, it is the method

of technique the dancers practice.  All Company members are required to take Company class.

Company members earn a salary and there will be 22-32 weeks of work for next season which includes national touring.  There are two series of programming, the Once Upon A Ballet series and Signatures.   Whether dancing a contemporary work, or a classic revival, the repertory is challenging, as is the performance schedule.

Audition Dress Code:

Please be dressed appropriately for a ballet company audition.

Women:  plain leotard, pink or light colored tights (no black tights), ballet slippers, and pointe shoes with secured ribbons and elastics.  No skirts, socks, sweat pants or bulky sweaters.

Men: tee shirt (rolled into a belt) or leotard, tights, and ballet slippers.  No sweat pants, bulky sweaters or bulky socks.
